One of the primary ingredients in this formula is a patented ingredient from France called Lipowheat. Lipowheat is extracted from wheat, however it has been certified as gluten-free as no traces remain in the finished extract. Lipowheat is rich in botanical ceramides and digalactosyl-diglyceride, a glycolipid of cellular membranes. It is a natural, vegan source of ceramides, and contains a class of lipids that are the skins natural sealant. Lipowheat ceramides help prevent the loss of skin moisture and provide a rich and youthful glow.
With ageing, stress, poor nutrition and environmental exposure, the protective skin barrier is increasingly compromised. Deficiency of ceramides in the protective skin layer may contribute to dry, flaky and itchy skin. Lipowheat restores skin barrier function ensuring a healthy hydration mechanism. Our skin is the largest and arguably the most important organ of the body. The stratum corneum is the corneal layer composed of keratinized, fused, flat cells that are bound together by lipids, including cholesterol, free fatty acids and ceramides.
