At Earthfare we’re not just a supermarket; we’re a growing community of conscious consumers. Together with you, we donate hundreds of food items to our local community.
We’ve always believed that making conscious choices about we consume can have a positive impact on our planet and the local community, however, we also know that sometimes it’s about more than that! It’s offering your hand to someone in need and little acts of kindness go a long way.
We’re currently working with Bridging the Gap, established by Churches Together, in Glastonbury. They’re a local charity who provide food parcels and shelter packs to those in financial crisis to support them during difficult times. They do incredible work within the community and donating food to them is just a small way that we can help make a difference.
How you can help:
We’ve got a wooden crate at the front of our store, near the tills, where customers can donate items. If you’d like to add something then please do! (Keep reading for a list of items our community need). Once a week we arrange a collection when all your generous donations are about to burst out of the box!
Wherever we can Earthfare also make contributions to Bridging the Gap and hope to positively impact someone in the area who’s in need of a little extra support at the moment. Please check out the Bridging the Gap Facebook page for regular updates on what they’re most in need of, especially as we come in to colder months and Christmas is looming. For many families this time of year is a particularly difficult one so any help is hugely appreciated!
